Creating True Social Change By Educating the Multitude
EDUCATION is one of the most powerful tools for social change. The Tug-Of-More project affords students the opportunity to create real change by affecting someone less fortunate. In other words, the act of obtaining an education will actually help provide an education for someone else in need.
For every student who enrolls in the program, another student, around the globe, is afforded the opportunity to achieve a master’s degree—tuition free! This cycle of giving, we hope, will prompt further generosity and create a climate for global citizenship that will impact the dire need for education around the globe.
Using a formal application process, two students apply to the Tug-Of-More Project. One is committed to partnering with a fellow classmate throughout the program; the other is committed to positive social change and in financial need.
An independent committee, comprised of higher education officials, community leaders, and CLU alumni review the applications based upon specific criteria and select two students to be paired together. The student in financial need is awarded a full scholarship.
The students are enrolled and begin classes at Claremont Lincoln University within their respective programs and meet together in their first class, Mindfulness.
Both students work together throughout the Claremont Core, act as accountability partners for their Capstone projects, and eventually complete their degree programs.
Both students embark upon a new journey; Changing more lives.
