News & Stories:
Claremont Lincoln University and Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Affiliate
November 2, 2022

Effective November 1, 2022, through an affiliation agreement, CLU, a nonprofit accredited university, formalized its long-standing relationship with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy (LILP), a nonprofit think tank and private operating foundation established in the 1940s by the same family that founded CLU. Under the terms of the agreement, CLU will continue to be operated by the same non-profit organization. From November through February, CLU and LILP notified and provided required documentation to the states, the Department of Education, and the WASC Senior College and University Commission, CLU’s accreditor.

Although part of LILP, CLU retains its separate board and faculty governance structures, accreditation, and Federal Department of Education status. As such, CLU remains an independently accredited institution of higher education eligible for Title IV student Federal Financial Aid.
